Biography

Massiamy Diaby is a Black queer freelance artist living in Berlin. Born in Frankfurt am Main, Massiamy grew up on the Baltic Sea island of Poel, in Berlin and in Accra. She completed her acting studies at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen in 2020. She is an actress, devises her own theatre performances, realises film projects and writes poetry. Massiamy's works aim to dismantle power structures and convey political themes as emotional experiences. She integrates herself critically into her works and reflects on her own privileges in order to break through the apparent objectivity of art. POELER LUFT is Massiamy's debut short film.
