Biography

Patrick Joseph was born in 1983 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and attended university there, where he studied literature. He has since worked as an actor and director for theatre and film. In addition to performances at the theatre festival in Haiti, in 2006 he founded Compagnie “Etiquette” with artist friends and in 2008 the “Theatron” troupe. For Récréâtrales Festival 2010 in Burkina Faso and the africologneFESTIVAL 2011 at the Theater im Bauturm in Cologne, he staged the Guy Régis play Incessants. After the Haiti earthquake, he worked for the NGO

“Handicap International” on a project for physical rehabilitation and social inclusion of earthquake victims. In May 2011 he was invited to the “Kunstenfestivaldesarts” in Brussels as an artist-in-residence. For 2012-2013 he served as artistic collaborator (play developer, acting coach, and director) at the co-production Ombres d’espoir for the festivals africologne in Cologne and Récréâtrales in Ouagadougou. For 2014-2015 he has also acted in the transnational theatre production Coltan Fever.
