Biography

PEGA FOGO is a creative collective founded by documentary film director Brenda Akele Jorde and cinematographer and director David-Simon Groß. Together, they are dedicated to addressing vital social and political issues that are often overlooked or silenced. The two filmmakers first met in 2018 and collaborated on THE HOMES WE CARRY exploring themes of Afro-German identity, migration, and memory, set in Mozambique and Germany. Their latest collaboration, ENTRE NÓS E O SILÊNCIO (BETWEEN US AND THE SILENCE), marks their second film together. It continues their commitment to amplifying marginalized voices.
