Biography

Wilfried N’Sondé was born in Brazzaville (Congo) in 1968 and went to France with his family when he was five years old. He studied Political Science at the Sorbonne and 16 years ago moved to Berlin, where he looks after social projects for Turkish youngsters and works as a musician, author and composer. His first novel “Le coeur des enfants leopards” (The heart of the leopard children) won the “Prix des cinq continents de la Francophonie” and the Senghor Prize for Literature and is also available in a German translation. At the africologneFESTIVAL 2011 a stage adaptation was performed. In spring 2012 he was back in Cologne to develop a new play with the Theater im Bauturm and actors from Théâtre Falinga from Ouagadougou. It is called Ombres d’espoir and will be presented at Out of Europe XII as a reading and premiered at the Festival Récréâtrales in Ouagadougou. It will have its Cologne premiere at the second africologneFESTIVAL in 2013 (18 – 26 June).
