Biography

Michaël Andrianaly was born in 1978 and lives in Toamasina, Madagascar. After completing his studies in International
Trade and Business Management, he now works as a director, editor and photographer. In 2012, he made
his first documentary, TODISOA AND THE BLACK STONES, which was screened at Clermont-Ferrand International
Short Film Festival, the La Réunion International African and Island Film Festival and the St. Louis Documentary
Film Festival (Senegal). In 2014, Andrianaly founded his own production company, Imasoa Film, with which he coproduced
his second documentary NJAKA KELY in 2015. The film was shown at around ten festivals in Africa, Europe
and Canada. NOFINOFY, which will be presented at the 17th Afrika Film Festival, is his third documentary.
