Abstract

SELMA, portrayed by Nejma Zeghidi, is the name of a courageous Tunisian woman who, after her husband dies in an accident, wants to take over driving his taxi to provide for herself and her daughter. But the licensing bureau in Tunis does not allow women as taxi drivers. And her conservative mother-in-law cannot understand Selma’s idea.
