Abstract
The famous Afro-American poet and writer Audre Lorde, often cited as calling herself a “lesbian, feminist, black woman, poet, mother, fighter”, died in 1992. In the 80s, Dagmar Schultz, then lecturing at the John F. Kennedy Institute at Freie Universität Berlin, invited Lorde as guest professor to Berlin. The move was to have lasting consequences. Lorde became mentor and co-founder of the Afro-German movement. In her cinematic portrait, Dagmar Schultz is presenting partly unseen, very personal material of Audre Lorde.
