Abstract

"It`s me, Anna!" - Danie du Toit cannot believe his ears when the doorbell rings during a stormy night. But his ears are not deceiving him: The South African businessman`s stepdaughter Anna Bruwer, who he has not seen for years, is outside. She is soaked-through. Then shots ring out through the night... In DIS EK, ANNA, director Sara Blecher delicately shows the fateful consequences of sexual abuse, and takes the viewer on a ride through a seedy world of shame, fear and remaining silent. 
Sara Blecher won several awards at the Durban International Film Festival in 2015, including the Best Feature Film, Best Screenplay and Best Director awards.
