Abstract
2003 in casablanca, 14 young heavy metal musicians were arrested and sentenced to imprisonment. Four years later, Ahmed Boulane filmed this real story. Despite bureaucratic obstacles and a very low budget he succeeded, thanks to his dedicated crew, a gripping depiction of the trial. In this court case, the moroccan rock musicians are accused by a fanatical judge for “satanism“ and “shaking the foundations of the Islam“. Freedom and justice must be fought in morocco against a decrepit state apparatus. The families and friends of the musicians mobilize the music press and the public, and finally call for demonstrations via internet. Their call for freedom and democracy sounding similar to the slogans that were recently heard on the streets in Tunis and Cairo.
